New Delhi. Pakistan, which is going to host the Champions Trophy next month, has suffered a big setback in the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan Under-19 women’s team could not win even a single match in its group. That too, when there were teams like Ireland and America in its group. On the other hand, India has made it to the Super-6 by winning all its three matches. Nigeria and America have also reached Super-6. This is why Pakistan cricket fans are banging their heads. Last year also, due to losing to America in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan team could not go to the Super-8.

Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup is being played in Malaysia. 16 teams took the field in this tournament which started on January 18. Of these, the top 12 teams made it to the Super-8. These 12 teams have been divided into groups of 6-6. India’s group in Super-6 includes Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Scotland and West Indies. The second group has teams from South Africa, England, America, Nigeria, Ireland and New Zealand. Super-6 matches are starting from Saturday.

In the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, the Indian team was in Group A along with Sri Lanka, West Indies and Malaysia. India won all three matches in spectacular fashion. India’s women’s under-19 team defeated West Indies by 9 wickets and Malaysia by 10 wickets. In the third match, it defeated Sri Lanka by 60 runs. India’s first match in Super-6 will be against Bangladesh on 26 January.

Talking about Pakistan, in Group B it was defeated by England by 8 wickets and Ireland by 13 runs. The match of Pakistan women’s under-19 team and America was canceled due to rain. Due to this, Pakistan had to compete for 13th and 14th place. In this match, it defeated Samoa by 52 runs and finished 13th in the tournament. Only the teams of Nepal, Malaysia and Samoa remained below Pakistan.
