Islamabad : Pakistan has rejected India’s action in the case of accidentally firing a supersonic missile into Pakistani territory on March 9. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday reiterated the demand for a joint inquiry into the matter. Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian Air Force concluded its investigation, saying that the government had sacked three officers for accidentally firing missiles at Pakistan in March. The nuclear-capable supersonic BrahMos missile, jointly developed by Russia and India, was unintentionally fired towards India on March 9. After this, the Government of India had sought an answer from Pakistan on the whole matter.
“Pakistan rejects the alleged closure of the investigation into the highly irresponsible incident by India and reiterates its demand for a joint investigation,” a statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Ministry said. “The action taken by India after the incident and its outcome and the punishment awarded after the investigation is completely unsatisfactory, faulty and inadequate,” it said.
