Pakistan: Balochistan forcibly kidnaps, detention, increases in disappearance

The leading Baloch Human Rights Body, Baloch Yakjehti Committee on Monday shared that Balochistan continues to reel under increasing cases of forced kidnapping, custody and disappearance on the pretext of security.

In a post on X, BYC stated that Gwadar saw sixteen cases of disappearance at the hands of Frontier Corps in the last few days.

“In Balochistan, forcibly kidnapping, autocracy and disappearance on the pretext of security have become a daily practice for state law applicable agencies (Leas). Recent kidnapping cases in Tehsil Pasni, District Gwadar are prime examples of paramilitary violence and aggression against simple Baloch. In the last few days, only sixteen people had disappeared from the Frontier Crops (FC) raids in Tehsil Pasni. ,

BYC also shared details of the kidnapped persons on X.

BYC also attracted attention that when the victim families had disappeared and blocked the highway demanding a response to the highway, the police and administration used their “extreme force” against them. , Which included force on women and children who were “tragic losses and misconduct”.

“However, the families of the victims were able to maintain their opposition in peace and Pasni maintained the blockade at the zero-point. BYC demands that paramilitary and police refrain from using excessive force against families sitting on the road in such a cold.

To support the families of the victims, to respond and strengthen their voices, Byc gave a call to Baloch locals and the nation.

Balochistan faces several issues, including the state suppression, disappearance and extraordinary murders of activists, scholars and citizens. The region suffers from inadequate development, lack of infrastructure and economic neglect with limited political autonomy.

Earlier, highlighting the kidnapping of Baloch woman Asma Baluch, BYC organizer Maharang Baloch said that Balochistan is one of the most dangerous areas in terms of human rights.
