“Pakistan Army forcibly killed missing persons, dumped their mutilated bodies”: Mehrang Baloch


Baloch activist Mehrang Baloch has expressed concern over the recovery of mutilated bodies of four forcibly disappeared persons in Balochistan in the last 24 hours and urged human rights organizations to pay immediate attention to the issue. he/she accused the Pakistani Army of forcibly killing the disappeared and dumping their mutilated bodies.

Mehrang Baloch said that bodies of two persons, identified as Faqir Jan and Essa Baloch, were found in Awaran. he/she said Faqir Jaan was forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani Army after being detained from his/her home on September 26, while Essa Baloch was forcibly disappeared in February 2023.

In a post on X, Mehrang Baloch said, “The recovery of four mutilated bodies of forcibly disappeared persons in #Balochistan in the last 24 hours is extremely worrying. Yesterday, bodies of two persons were found in Awaran, identified as Faqir Jan and Essa Baloch. Faqir Jaan was forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani Army after being detained from his/her home on September 26, 2024, while Essa was forcibly disappeared on February 17, 2023.

“Today, two mutilated bodies were recovered from Zehri area of ​​Khuzdar, identified as Abid Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Zehri and Masti Khan, son of Gohar Khan. Both were forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani Army in 2017.”

he/she said that the mutilated body of Bashir Ahmed, who was forcibly disappeared from Gwadar, was also recovered.

“Meanwhile, the mutilated body of Bashir Ahmed, who was forcibly disappeared from Gwadar a few days ago, was also recovered, even as the security forces publicly accepted his/her arrest. Similarly, a few days ago, a mutilated body of a youth named Israr Baloch was found in Turbat. Human rights organizations should take immediate cognizance of this serious issue. Pakistani army is killing the forcibly disappeared people and dumping their mutilated bodies,” he/she posted on X.

PANK, the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement, has condemned the extrajudicial killings of Faqir Jan and Asa Baloch by Pakistani security forces in Awaran district of Balochistan.

A few months ago, Pakistani forces had forcibly abducted Faqir Jan, son of Syed Muhammad, from Kunri Bazdad and Asa Baloch, son of Noor Din, from Paho. The human rights wing said the two men were killed after months of enforced disappearance.

In a post on Asa Baloch, son of Noor Din of Paho, went missing under similar circumstances on February 17, 2023. Both the men were killed in a fake encounter in Buzdad Barbodonk area of ​​Awaran on November 30, 2024.

Pank said that these actions represent a serious violation of human rights and international law and urged the Pakistani government to conduct an immediate and transparent investigation into these killings.

In the post on X, Punk further said, “These actions represent a gross violation of human rights and international law, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial executions. We call on the Pakistani government to immediately, transparently and impartially investigate these killings, hold those responsible accountable, and end the systemic use of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. The international community should not remain silent in the face of these atrocities. “The victims and their families must get justice.”
