New Delhi: In the IPL, the same picture was seen again last night, which the whole world became witness last year. After losing in the first match of the current season, the ‘class’ of Lucknow’s newly fledged captain Rishabh Pant was held. In front of the dugout outside the boundary, franchise owner Sanjeev Goenka was seen questioning Rishabh. This picture reminded KL Rahul of the scolding last year.
In fact, on March 24, Lucknow Supergiants played their first match of the 18th season. But in the last over, Delhi Capitals defeated him/her. This match was no less than a nightmare for Rishabh Pant. Rishabh, the most expensive player in IPL history with a bid of 27 crores, could not even open an account for Lucknow in his/her first match. Later, if he/she had not been stumping in the last over, he/she would have won the Lucknow match.
LSG’s new captain Rishabh Pant once again threw his/her wicket after scoring 0 runs in six balls. Kuldeep Yadav caught him/her out of Faf Duplessis on the boundary. Rishabh also failed in wicketkeeping after a flop in batting. In the last over, when Delhi Capitals needed six runs and nine wickets had fallen, then on the very first ball of Shahbaz Ahmed, Rishabh Pant lost a golden opportunity to stump Mohit Sharma. Otherwise the match would go in the bag of Lucknow.
Delhi Capitals won the match by one wicket in 19.3 overs with a stormy innings of 66 runs in 31 balls played by ‘Impact Sub’ Ashutosh Sharma. Ashutosh won the team by hitting a skyscraper six off the ball of Shahbaz Ahmed. he/she hit five fours and as many sixes during his/her innings.
Delhi Capitals had earlier returned to Nicholas Puran (75 runs) and Mitchell Marsh (72 runs) after a bang half -century innings and stopped Lucknow Supergiants for eight wickets for 209 runs.
