Opposition ruckus over Shah’s remarks on Ambedkar, Lok Sabha proceedings disrupted

New Delhi: Congress and several other opposition parties created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday over a comment made by Home Minister Amit Shah in reference to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Due to this, the House proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm within two minutes of its commencement. As soon as the House proceedings began, the opposition members started creating ruckus. They raised slogans of ‘Jai Bhim’. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal targeted the Congress and said that the Congress always insulted Babasaheb and also defeated him/her in the elections. he/she said, ‘These people always insulted Babasaheb. We always respected him/her. Meghwal said that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work related to Babasaheb, these people are taking the name of Babasaheb out of compulsion. As the uproar continued in the House, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the meeting at 11:02 in the morning till 2:00 in the afternoon. Postponed.

Congress and opposition parties allege that Shah insulted Babasaheb during his/her address in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. The main opposition party released a video excerpt of Shah’s address in which the Home Minister can be heard taking a dig at the opposition and saying That, ‘It has become a fashion now – Ambedkar, Ambedkar…’ If you had taken God’s name that much, you would have gone to heaven for seven births.

Opposition members started demanding discussion in Sandan

Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Wednesday objected to the statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha regarding Constitution maker Baba Saheb Ambedkar and demanded a discussion in the House. he/she has given notice of adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha in this regard. he/she said in his/her notice, ‘I draw the attention of the House to the appointment of Dr. B.R. I want to draw attention to the derogatory comments made regarding Ambedkar. These comments not only insult the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, but also hurt the sentiments of crores of people who revere him/her as the founder of modern India and an icon of social justice and equality.’
