Opposition parties meeting in Bengaluru todayNew Delhi: Before the Lok Sabha elections, the second meeting of the opposition is going to be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The meeting will start from today, 17th July and will continue till 18th July tomorrow. During this, 24 parties including Congress, TMC, RJD, NCP, SP and AAP will attend the meeting. Before this meeting, it was expected that the Aam Aadmi Party would not participate in it, but today after the Congress party agreed to oppose the central government’s ordinance, AAP has announced its participation in the meeting.
Congress President Mallikarjuna had sent invitations to many leaders for the meeting.
Congress is leading this meeting to be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had sent invitation letters to the opposition leaders for this meeting. Earlier, 15 parties participated in the first meeting of opposition parties held in Patna on June 23. The opposition meeting is taking place amid a split in the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and large-scale violence in the West Bengal panchayat polls that left several people dead. The West Bengal unit of the Congress and the Left parties have criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress over the election violence in Bengal.

According to sources, this time Sonia Gandhi is also likely to attend the meeting. Apart from this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJD chief Lalu Yadav, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah, Sanjay Raut, Lalan Singh, and Left leader Sitaram Yechury. can attend the meeting.

This will be the agenda for the meeting of opposition parties
- Setting up of a sub-committee for drafting the Common Minimum Program for the 2024 General Elections and preparing necessary communication points for the alliance
- Forming a sub-committee on party conferences, rallies and resolving contradictions between the two parties
- To discuss the matter of seat sharing on state basis.
- To discuss the issue of EVMs and suggest reforms for the Election Commission.
- Suggest a name for the alliance.
- Establishing a general secretariat for the proposed alliance.
The meeting will start at 6 pm
The two-day meeting will begin at 6 pm today with a welcome address by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. After this the agenda of the meeting will be discussed. After this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will give dinner to all the leaders of the opposition. After this, another formal meeting will start at 11 am on Tuesday. After the meeting, the entire opposition will hold a press conference at 4 pm. Let us tell you that even after the meeting held in Patna, a press conference was held, in which Lalu Yadav also participated, but the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party were absent from this meeting.
