Opinion: ‘Two results’ of one election, on one side ‘jumping’ stopped and on the other side ‘chopping’ started

Patna: After getting five Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, Congress was certain that the tide had turned. he/she does not have to struggle to win the assembly elections. Now victory will come automatically. Because of its overconfidence, Congress has to face this day today. It will not be surprising if Congress has to face more difficulties in the future.

Years old tradition broken in Haryana

Congress was also hopeful that Haryana would break its tradition this time too. From 1952 till now, no single party has got a chance to form the government for the third time in Haryana. This myth may also have played a psychological role in exit polls and election projections. But BJP’s efficient election strategy has broken the myth.

BJP made anti-incumbency a pro

BJP had already assessed anti-incumbency in 2019, when in the elections fought under the leadership of Manohar Lal Khattar, it had won seven seats less than in 2014. BJP had got 47 seats in 2014, while in 2019 it got 40 seats. BJP removed him/her from the post of CM in the middle of his/her second term. In his/her place, BJP appointed Naib Singh Saini from the OBC category, who reversed the direction of anti-incumbency. BJP also indifferently canceled the tickets of many of its MLAs.

BJP will capitalize on Haryana’s results

BJP will present Haryana’s victory as a model in the Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly elections to be held in November. BJP will tell that after snatching five Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, by the time of assembly elections, the voters understood that good can be done only by BJP.

Congress has known the reason for defeat

Congress first considered the defeat in Haryana as a trick of the government. Congressmen reached Election Commission after finding fault in EVM’s battery. However, when reviewed later, the weakness was revealed. Rahul Gandhi admitted that this situation happened because the leaders there put aside the party’s interests and put personal gains first. That means Congress has now found the reasons for its defeat. The allegation of EVM malfunction has now become meaningless.

Opposition will be affected in Bihar also

The impact of Haryana elections is not only being felt in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, but the morale of the opposition has broken in Bihar also. NDA constituents have also now understood that it would be their mistake to underestimate BJP on the basis of Lok Sabha election results. Therefore, even the allies who were eyeing BJP will now be in control.

Trouble started in ‘India’ on Haryana

The results of Haryana elections have also created a ruckus in the opposition unity. Shiv Sena (Uddhav)’s Sanjay Raut and Priyanka Chaturvedi have accused Congress of neglecting its allies. Congress could not form an alliance with Samajwadi Party and Aam Aadmi Party. Akhilesh Yadav has immediately taken revenge for this in the assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. Congress was demanding five seats in the by-elections to be held on 10 seats. Akhilesh has announced the names of his/her candidates on six dates. However, out of the 10 seats where elections are to be held, only four belong to SP.

Will Rahul be able to remain the opposition leader?

After the defeat of Haryana in the India Block, sounds of ruckus have started being heard. Aam Aadmi Party has announced to contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone. Shiv Sena (Uddhav) has advised Congress to review the defeat. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is already angry with Congress. While in India Block, he/she did not leave even a single seat for Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, it would not be surprising if India Bloc parties object to Rahul Gandhi continuing as the leader of the opposition. BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has also expressed such apprehension.
