Opinion: Molestation of a foreign woman at India Gate, this is not entertainment, it is vulgarity and shamelessness.

Some people are being abusive towards foreign tourists on social media platforms in India, which is damaging the reputation of India. Police and administration lack strict laws, due to which action is not being taken.

highlights

  • Video of miscreants harassing a foreign woman at Delhi’s India Gate goes viral
  • People are violating all limits for the sake of views and followers on social media.
  • Many incidents of misbehavior with foreign tourists have come to light in the past also.
New Delhi: India has been known for its hospitality across the world. We are taught from childhood that ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ means the guest is God. But nowadays some miscreants have become enemies of this tradition on social media. A video is going viral on social media, in which some miscreants are seen harassing a foreign woman. These miscreants are making reels by dancing around the woman who had come to visit India Gate in Delhi. It is clearly visible in the video that the woman is feeling uncomfortable.

Why is there no action taken against such influencers?

In the language of social media, these miscreants are called ‘Chhapri’. Nowadays, the vulgarity of these chaparis has increased even more. Everyone has freedom of expression, but will these people violate all limits for the sake of it? Such videos keep appearing on social media every day. Sometimes these people will be seen doing obscene acts in the metro, and sometimes on bike-scooty. How long will influencers who cross the limits of vulgarity and shamelessness continue to do such things? Why is strict action not taken against such people? These are some questions to which everyone wants to know the answers.

Tourist place turned into a den of reels

These scoundrels of social media did not leave anything. These people are spreading everywhere like a virus. Whether you go to tourist places in big cities or parks in small cities, everywhere you will find some people sitting in front of their mobile phones. But at least in tourist places like India Gate, where thousands of foreign tourists come, these people should be controlled. Security forces should take action against these insensitive elements who harm the reputation of the country.

Such incidents have happened before also

What happened to foreign tourists at India Gate is not the first such incident. Molestation of a foreign woman in Jaipur, misbehavior with foreign girls on the pretext of Holi in Delhi, attack on foreign guests in Agra… there are so many cases which cannot be counted on fingers. Everywhere decorum is being torn apart, the Indian tradition of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ is being insulted. But the police and administration are not able to do anything special. The reason is lack of strict law. Strict rules should be made against such vulgar content creators and influencers.

It is necessary to pay attention to these incidents and condemn such actions so that the true values of Indian society can be maintained. The representation of Indian culture, which symbolizes hospitality, respect and compassion, should not be allowed to be tarnished by these social media activities.
