Operation Allout: New dimension to security system in Jammu, new strategy being made against terrorism

New Delhi: Changes have been made in the police structure under Operation Allout against terrorists in Jammu. In Jammu, where there were no SP Operations and DSP Operations within the police for many years, now they have been deployed. Also, the police are being re-trained for counter terrorism operations. In the last few years, terrorists have increased their focus in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir and have tried to establish their roots again. This year itself, the terrorists have increased the security Many attacks were carried out by ambushing the forces and also targeted civilians. In view of the increasing activity of terrorists in Jammu, which remained peaceful for 20 years, the Indian Army and Police have prepared a fresh plan for Operation Allout here. According to a senior officer of the security agency, more recruitment has been done in the Special Operation Group (SOG) within the police and posts have been increased. Besides, focus has also been laid on the training of SOG.

Village defense guards also trained

Along with this, the Indian Army has also given training to village defense guards. New weapons have also been provided to them. According to an officer, due to long period of silence, the police in Jammu also focused on monitoring the law and order situation and had missed their practice of counter terrorism operations. Therefore, now more than 1000 police officers have also been trained in the Army’s Core Battle School.

The focus of the training was on operational tactics, and training was also given on intelligence sharing. During the training, focus was also placed on counter terrorism i.e. anti terrorism strategy. According to an officer, army training has been going on since the beginning but police training is of a different type. When both are together in an operation, it is important for both of them to understand the specifics of the situation and strategy as well as the rules of engagement. Even in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation is not the same everywhere. Terrorists have to be dealt with differently everywhere. When army and police operate together, it is important for the entire team to understand this.

Special focus has been laid on the training of police so that there is good coordination between police and army and both work at the same pace in counter terrorism operations. For this, last week, Indian Army’s Para Officer Colonel Vikrant Parashar has also been appointed SSP Training and Special Operations in Jammu and Kashmir Police. Colonel Parashar will be on deputation in the police for two years. By making an army officer ASP training and special operations, the focus on police training will also increase.
