On Ukraine, Putin said, I am ready to discuss the possibility of an agreement in talks with America’s newly elected President Trump.




Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at his/her annual year-end press conference, said he/she is ready to discuss the possibility of a deal in talks with US President-elect Donald Trump on the issue of Ukraine, Al Jazeera reports. .

Putin also praised the ‘invincibility’ of the “Oreshnik” hypersonic missile, which Russia has already tested at a Ukrainian military factory, saying he/she was ready to hold another launch in Ukraine and see if the West Air defense systems can shoot it down.

Al Jazeera quoted Putin as saying, “Let them set some targets for destruction, such as in Kiev, concentrate all their air defense and missile defense forces there, and we will attack there with Oreshniks and see if It happens.”

“We are ready for such an experiment, but is the other side ready?” he/she said.

Earlier, Putin congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election and said Moscow was ready for talks with the elected Republican president.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate him/her on his/her victory in the US presidential election. “I have already said that we will work with any head of state in whom the American people have confidence,” Putin said on November 7 while addressing a plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi.

According to Al Jazeera, these were Putin’s first public comments after Trump’s victory. he/she also praised Trump for showing courage during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 14.

“In my opinion, he/she behaved very correctly – courageously, like a real man,” Putin said in his/her address at the Valdai discussion club, Al Jazeera reports.
