Om Birla will create a record as soon as he/she wins, but will he/she get a chance to create history as Lok Sabha Speaker?

New Delhi: There was no consensus between the ruling party and the opposition for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. Therefore, it will now be decided through elections who will be the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. With 293 MPs, the BJP-led ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has a majority in the House. Therefore, there is no doubt about the victory of the NDA in the Lok Sabha Speaker election. Actually, the opposition had demanded the post of Deputy Speaker. When the ruling party did not agree to this, the opposition refused to support the ruling party for the post of Speaker. On behalf of the opposition, Congress MP from Mavelikkara, Kerala, K. Suresh has filed nomination papers for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. Meanwhile, the ruling party has made former Lok Sabha Speaker and BJP MP from Kota, Rajasthan, Om Birla, its candidate.

Will Om Birla become Lok Sabha Speaker again?

Om Birla has a chance to create history

However, none of them had completed a double term of 10 years. In this sense, Om Birla will have a chance to create history. If he/she completes the full term of five years this time, then he/she will set a record of remaining on the post of Lok Sabha Speaker for two full terms of Lok Sabha i.e. 10 years.
