NTA must give up its indecisive attitude, exam system needs to be reformed: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court said that it Well UG 2024 exam was not cancelled because the sanctity of the exam was not affected. No evidence was found to show that there was a systematic lapse. But during this time, a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud of the Supreme Court has advised the NTA that it should stop its indecisive attitude, as it affects the interests of the students. The Supreme Court expanded the committee formed in the case and asked the committee to submit its report by September 30.

The Supreme Court had refused to cancel the NEET paper on 23 July and in this case, the Supreme Court has passed a detailed order on 2 August. The bench headed by Chief Justice Chandrachud of the Supreme Court said that the NTA should not have a lax attitude. The court said that the interest of the students is not in this.

The committee should tell how to improve the exam system?

The Centre had constituted a committee headed by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan. The Supreme Court has extended the scope of this committee and said that since the scope has been extended now, the committee should submit its report by September 30 on all measures to improve the examination system and remove its shortcomings.

The Supreme Court has told the Radhakrishnan Committee that it should consider preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to adopt advanced technology to strengthen the examination system. The problems that arose during the NEET paper should be resolved by the Center.

It is clear from this decision of the Supreme Court that some major changes can be seen in the examinations to be held next year i.e. in 2025. Changes are almost certain in the system of conducting NTA exams.
