Now we will not play any match with India, furious former Pakistani captain

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team has clearly refused to go to Pakistan and play in the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year. This was already known and BCCI also officially informed ICC about it. There has been an uproar in Pakistan ever since this news came to light. Former Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad has said that India has made a joke of this matter. Even if India-Pakistan matches do not take place, Pakistan cricket will still be alive.

The Pakistan Cricket Board was informed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday 10 November that India has refused to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. After this came to light, many Pakistani cricketers targeted BCCI and expressed their displeasure over its repeated refusal to come to Pakistan.

Former Pakistani captain Miandad told PTI, “Is there any joke going on here? If the Indian team does not want to come and play here, then we will also not play against India at all. Even then Pakistan cricket will not only survive but will progress like before. I would like to see how ICC events make money when matches between Pakistan and India are not held.”

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has spoken with senior government officials on the matter to discuss the future course of action after the ICC informed the PCB about India not coming to Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that it had received an e-mail from the ICC informing them of India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy, despite Naqvi having earlier rejected the ‘hybrid model’.
