Now there are differences in India Block regarding EVMs too…why does this happen only with Congress?

New Delhi: Everything is not going well in the opposition alliance India these days. Several recent developments indicate that Congress’s allies are adopting different stands on some issues. Earlier there was a tussle among the opposition parties regarding the post of President of India Alliance, now the opposition leaders are seen isolated from the Congress on the issue of EVM. Earlier also on the issue of Adani, the allies of the India Alliance had distanced themselves from the Congress’s stand.

What is the recent case?

On Monday, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee gave a statement on the issue of EVM. he/she has said that those raising questions on EVMs should go to the Election Commission and demonstrate which technique can be used to hack the voting machine. Along with this, he/she said that such allegations cannot be made because during voting, mock poll is done at the booth and it is checked during counting. Without taking names, he/she attacked Congress and said that only statements are being made, nothing else is happening.

Omar Abdullah also changed his/her tune

Before Abhishek Banerjee, Jammu and Kashmir CM and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had also given a separate statement from Congress on the issue of EVMs. he/she had said in an interview that when you win the election, accept the results and when you lose, point out the fault of the EVMs. he/she said, ‘When you have more than 100 members in Parliament who have won through EVMs, then you consider it a victory. How can you reverse this after a few months… We do not like these EVMs because now the election results are not coming as we want.

Even on Adani issue, fellow parties had distanced themselves from each other.

Congress is continuously cornering the BJP government on the issue of Adani. From the streets to the Parliament, Congress is seen raising slogans against the government. There was not a single day in the winter session when Congress did not create ruckus on this issue. But Congress allies have distanced themselves from Congress on this issue also. TMC, Samajwadi Party and Sharad Pawar’s NCP have also backed away from Congress’ stand of targeting the Modi government for disrupting the Parliament proceedings on the Adani issue.

Talks did not work out with AAP for Delhi elections

Even for the Delhi Assembly elections, the alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party could not be formed. There were discussions about alliance till the last moment, but no result came out. According to sources, a meeting of the opposition alliance was also held but the discussion on seat sharing could not be reached. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal twice rejected the speculations of alliance with Congress. It is also being said that everything is not going well between the state Congress unit and the central leadership in Delhi. No top leadership including Rahul Gandhi participated in the conclusion of Congress’ Nyaya Yatra.

Allies are not liking the leadership of Congress!

After the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, cracks are visible in the opposition alliance India. After this, the results of Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections further weakened the alliance. The biggest challenge is before Congress. Election analysts are holding the Congress leadership responsible for this. The result of this is that now opposition leaders are coming forward openly about the President of India Alliance. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee herself has expressed her desire to lead the India alliance. Samajwadi Party, NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) have supported Mamata Banerjee on this issue. Apart from this, RJD chief Lalu Yadav also supported. In such a situation, the rumor of Mamata Banerjee’s impeachment has increased.
