Now the soldiers of the country will get the best technology based treatment, AFMS signed MoU with IIT Hyderabad

New Delhi: Indian Army soldiers and officers will soon be able to get the world’s best technology-based treatment. This includes drone-based patient transport, telemedicine, artificial intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology. With the aim of collaborating on all these new initiatives, research and training, the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has signed an agreement with IIT Hyderabad.

Army soldiers will get the best treatment
The objective of this MoU is to promote innovation and research in the development of new medical devices. Also, to expand specialized health facilities with solutions for serving soldiers in various fields. Under this, IIT Hyderabad will provide the necessary technical expertise with its departments like Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering and Bioinformatics to deal with the diverse medical challenges faced by the armed forces.

Agreement signed with IIT Hyderabad
The Defence Ministry said that as per the agreement, the key areas of cooperation discussed include drone-based patient transport, telemedicine innovation, application of AI in the medical field and advancement programmes in nanotechnology. Apart from these, student exchange programmes, short-term courses for graduate students and faculty exchange activities will be facilitated under the MoU. Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services Lieutenant General Daljit Singh and Director of IIT Hyderabad Professor BS Murthy signed this MoU.

Lieutenant General Daljit Singh emphasized the commitment of the Armed Forces Medical Services to provide comprehensive medical care to soldiers at both second and third level care. he/she also mentioned the fact that partnering with an institute like IIT Hyderabad, known for its cutting edge technology, is an important step towards enhancing research and training.

Professor BS Murthy expressed IIT Hyderabad’s commitment to address the problems raised by the armed forces. he/she said that this will ensure immediate and effective solutions to the challenges faced by them. This collaboration is a significant milestone in leveraging advanced technology and research to enhance the health and well-being of military personnel.
