Now the governors of many states of the country will change, know why this speculation is happening

New Delhi: The central government may soon transfer the governors of many states and union territories. This transfer may happen this month or next month because many Governors and Lieutenant Governors have been in their posts for more than three to five years. A spate of transfers can be seen especially in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, Left-ruled Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu. Whereas in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been in office for more than four years.

Speculation about who will be sent where

There is speculation that former national general secretary of BJP Ram Madhav may replace Sinha. Ram Madhav is associated with RSS and has played an important role in the assembly elections. Arif Mohammed Khan has been serving as the Governor of Kerala for more than five years. A source indicated that given his/her academic work, he/she may be given the post of governor or some other role. Devendra Kumar Joshi, Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands since October 2017, may either retire or get a new role in Kerala or Jammu and Kashmir.

Haryana Governor may also be transferred

Congress-ruled Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot and BJP-ruled Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat have been in their posts for more than three years. Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai, who assumed office on July 15, 2021, and Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, who has been in office since July 15, 2021, have also completed more than three years of their tenure as governors. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai C. Patel and Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh have also completed their tenure. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has also completed more than five years. Tamil Nadu’s R.N. Ravi and Goa’s P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has also served for more than three years.

Sources say that the transfer may take place after the formation of new governments in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana or after the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. There is also a possibility that senior BJP leaders, who did not contest the Lok Sabha elections, are being considered for the posts of Governor or Lieutenant Governor. Former MP Ashwini Choubey, V.K. The names of Singh and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi are also being discussed.

This transfer is important because many Governors and Lieutenant Governors have been in their posts for more than three to five years. Especially in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, Left-ruled Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu. In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been in office for more than four years. There is speculation that former BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav may replace him/her.
