Dhanbad. Passion for cricket is seen in every youth in India. There was a time when children from schools used to reach the ground directly to watch Dhoni bat. There would be noise in every street – ‘Mahi is killing’. Keeping this passion in mind, an international cricket stadium is going to be built soon in Dhanbad. This news has created a wave of happiness among the cricket players and fans of the city.

This stadium is being constructed with the joint efforts of Jharkhand Cricket Association (JCA) and Dhanbad Cricket Association (DCA) in Kako, about 20 kilometers from Dhanbad. The project is planned to be completed in four phases. At present, the work of the first phase has been completed at a cost of approximately Rs 70 to 72 lakh. Now dressing rooms, players’ hostels and other facilities will be constructed.

Cricket lovers should practice vigorously now
Till now, cricket players of Dhanbad had to depend on small grounds for practice. But after the construction of this stadium, they will get a dedicated and high level practice venue. This stadium will benefit not only the players of Dhanbad, but also Bokaro and Giridih. A new curiosity will awaken among cricket players.

Tournament will take place as soon as the ground is ready
This ground is special from many points of view. Its location is close to the National Highway Howrah-New Delhi and NH-32 as well as 8 lane road, due to which one will not face any difficulty in reaching here. JCA and DCA officials said that the construction work of the stadium is going on at a fast pace and major tournaments including Ranji Trophy will be organized here by 2025-26.
