Now organ transplant will gain momentum in the country, surgeons will be given training, know the complete plan of the government

New Delhi: Organ transplants including liver and kidney are going to gain momentum in the country. On Sunday, the first conference was organized by the Indian Society of Transplant Surgeons in AIIMS. Niti Aayog member Dr. VK Paul was present as the chief guest. According to Dr. Paul, there is a great need for organ transplant surgeons in the country. Efforts are being made to increase this number in view of the demand of the time. It is expected that through training, the number of transplant surgeons will double in the next five years. This conference started on Sunday and will continue till Monday, i.e. 9 September. The purpose of this event is to meet the growing demand for trained transplant surgeons in India. Transplant surgeons from many medical colleges including AIIMS, Chandigarh participated in the conference. About 15 surgeons were taught the tricks of kidney and liver transplant in it. Other prominent guests at the conference included DGHS Dr. Atul Goyal, AIIMS Director Dr. Srinivas, and former AIIMS Director Professor MC Mishra. About 100 faculty members and delegates were present at the event. According to experts, an important goal of this conference is to develop a network or grid that will link various medical colleges, SOTTO (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) and trauma centers to train surgeons in organ transplantation.

A separate center will be built for transplant in AIIMS
A separate centre for transplant will be opened in AIIMS, where surgeons will be trained using new transplant techniques. Dr VK Bansal of the Indian Society of Transplant Surgeons said that the aim of this organisation is to increase transplant training in the country. Also, new transplant surgeons are to be prepared. he/she says that new techniques, research and different types of transplant will be promoted in the new transplant centre to be built in AIIMS. According to Dr Bansal, Dr VK Paul has said that the government will also help in increasing the number of transplant surgeons. A roadmap will be prepared in a few months and the training of transplant surgeons will be increased so that the number of transplant surgeons can be doubled in the coming five years.

Organ donation will also increase
Transplant surgeon Dr Sandeep Guleria said that the foundation of transplant is organ donation. Therefore, through this society, surgeons will be trained to do organ transplant, who will go to different parts of the country and do transplants. Also, this will greatly increase organ donation.
