These experts claim that at least 20,000 children are among the displaced people. These experts have claimed that demolition of houses has started from Wednesday in Khori village of Haryana, built on protected forest land. Earlier, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has leveled arbitrary allegations against India regarding Jammu and Kashmir and the farmers’ movement.

OHCHR interfering despite Supreme Court order
On June 7 this year, the Supreme Court after hearing had ordered to make the forest land completely encroachment free. After which the administration issued a policy of rehabilitation of the people living here and directed them to leave their homes. However, a large number of people do not agree with the rehabilitation policy of the government. According to the Municipal Corporation, Khori village situated on the Delhi-Faridabad border has 125 acres of land. Out of this, people have occupied 80 acres of land and built houses. About 10 thousand families live here.

OHCHR claims – India made land without forest protected
These experts claim that due to heavy mining in Khori village of Faridabad district of Haryana decades ago, the protected forests of this area have been destroyed. Despite that the land was designated as a protected forest in 1992. There was no forest here before. We urge the Indian government to respect its own laws and its goal of ending homelessness by 2022.’ These experts also said that most of the migrating families are from minority and marginalized communities. We appeal to spare the homes of these one lakh people.

‘Knowledge’ given to people on problems
These experts of the Human Rights Council said that the residents here have already been hit by the corona virus. So the eviction order would put them at greater risk. It will be even more painful for 20000 children. Many of these children may miss school. These people also include 5000 pregnant and lactating women.

Municipal Commissioner Dr. Garima Mittal, DC Yashpal Yadav and Deputy Commissioner of Police NIT Anshu Singla jointly told about the policy by holding a press conference. He said that a total of 2545 flats lying vacant in Dabua Colony and Bapu Nagar would be given to the people of Khori. But, before that they have to fulfill certain conditions. Also money will have to be paid.

Why did the UNHRC jump into India’s case?
united nations human rights office Has jumped into many internal matters of India in the past too. This UN office had made false allegations of human rights violations on India regarding the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Not only this, the UNHRC had issued a statement about the farmers’ movement without knowing the truth. India has also strongly opposed the statements of this office from time to time.
