Now even opposition leaders play with snow… BJP’s retort on Sushil Shinde’s statement about the fear of Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi: Taking a dig at the Congress over a remark by former Home Minister Sushil Shinde, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that the country’s security is so strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that even opposition leaders play with snow in Kashmir without any fear. Senior Congress leader Shinde had said on Monday at the release of his/her memoirs that when he/she was a minister, he/she was once afraid of going to Lal Chowk in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP taunts Sushil Shinde’s statement

On Sunil Shinde’s comment, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal said in a post on ‘X’ that during the Congress rule, even the Home Minister of the country was afraid to go to Kashmir. he/she said that now, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the security of the nation is so strong that even opposition leaders play with snow in Kashmir without any fear. BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said that the former Home Minister has admitted that he/she was afraid to go to Jammu and Kashmir but the Congress and National Conference want to take the Union Territory back to the days of terror. he/she said in a post on ‘X’ that today Rahul Gandhi was seen comfortably doing Bharat Jodo Yatra and snow fight in Kashmir. But Congress wants to take Jammu and Kashmir back to the days of terror.

‘The lives of the people of Kashmir have changed’

BJP’s information and technology department chief Amit Malviya said the repeal of Article 370 had changed the lives of people in Kashmir, strengthened grassroots democracy and reduced the influence of the “corrupt Abdullah and Mufti families”. Things have changed dramatically, he/she said. Even “childhood kid” and his/her sister were seen playing with snowballs. Recently, Rahul Gandhi, who failed for the third time, visited an ice-cream parlour late at night, he/she said. Lal Chowk and Dal Lake were among the most frequently visited places.
