Now Congress will start election campaign in this state, consultation is going on in the party regarding the candidates

New Delhi : After Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, Congress is now going to start its election campaign in view of the assembly elections of Jharkhand. The party has planned to sound the election bugle through a program organized on women, in which it will try to reach half the population with the help of Maiya Yojana run by the Jharkhand government. On one hand, Congress has planned to go among the people, while on the other hand, brainstorming is also going on within the party regarding the candidature.

It is noteworthy that the ruling coalition is very excited by the response received from women to the scheme launched by the Hemant Soren government for women. After the government, now the Congress has planned to go to the block level to implement this scheme on the ground. Actually, in this program, women working on the ground for women empowerment will be honored. Women from 15 surrounding assemblies including Ranchi will participate in it. While the state leadership will participate in the program, leaders from the national level will also reach to participate.

According to sources, these days the Congress is on a tour of opinion polls regarding candidates. For this, surveys are being conducted at different levels, while the screening committee and the district supervisors are carrying out the exercise of opinion polls. In view of the elections in early September, the screening committee headed by Girish Chodankar had visited the state district-wise. Apart from this, the co-incharges of the state had also visited at their own level. Recently, applications were sought for candidature, while from the block level to the district, people’s opinion is being taken on the ground about the possible faces on every seat.

In fact, recently Congress has appointed observers in every district of Jharkhand. All the block presidents have been asked to recommend five names each to the district level. These names received from the block level will be discussed at the district level in the presence of district observers, in which all the district level officials will discuss and make a panel of five names and send it to the state unit by 25 September. According to sources, at the end of the month, the screening committee can discuss among themselves on these names received from various districts of Jharkhand.

There is a buzz that the Election Commission may announce Jharkhand and Maharashtra elections in the second week of October. The party believes that by then it will almost finalise its candidature. Even though Congress is contesting the elections in alliance with Jharkhand, it is currently brainstorming about candidates for all 81 assembly seats. Last time Congress contested on 31 seats. Currently it has 17 MLAs.
