Now caste census will be conducted across the country? After Nitish-Naidu’s stature increased, Modi faces a big challenge

New Delhi : After not getting the magic number of 272 on its own, the coalition government formed with the BJP’s allies will face a big challenge in conducting the census, especially the caste census. The challenge is because the NDA government led by acting Prime Minister Narendra Modi never openly refused to do this. But it was also not in favor of conducting the caste census. Now that the results have come, all the equations have changed. In such a situation, conducting the caste census will be a big challenge for the new government formed under the leadership of Narendra Modi along with its allies. Whether BJP wants it or not, some allies will be in favor of conducting the caste census in the census. The work of delimitation can be started only after the census is done.

The issue of caste census will gain momentum again

In this matter, in July 2021, the government was asked a question on caste census in Parliament. Responding to which, the government had said that only SC-ST will be counted in the census as before. That is, the government had no intention of counting OBCs and other castes. The Bihar government had also released the data in October 2023 by conducting caste census in its state. The opposition had been constantly targeting the Modi-led government for the fact that the government is not willing to conduct caste census. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also cornered the government several times on this issue.
