But now when Prabhas’ film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ brought back the shine at the box office, many other producers are also busy preparing to bring their films on a good release date. It is another matter that in this affair they are also getting a tough challenge from other films. Despite this, no producer is ready to back down at the moment. Due to this, in the remaining six months of the year, apart from festivals, there are going to be huge clashes on other release dates as well.

Box office clash every month

The series of clashes of films at the box office is going to start in full swing from next month, July. First of all, on 12th July, Akshay Kumar’s film Sarfira will clash with Kamal Haasan’s superhit film Indian’s sequel Hindustani 2. On 15th August, four films are preparing to challenge each other one after the other. Actually, Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2 was going to release on this release date. But now after its postponement, four films Rajkumar Rao’s Stree 2, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, John Abraham’s Veda and Sanjay Dutt’s Double Smart have booked the Independence Day weekend. On Gandhi Jayanti, Akshay Kumar was preparing to release his/her Air Force based film Sky Force solo. But Telugu superstar Junior NTR has prepared to prepone the release of his/her film Devra and release it a few days before that. Also, on the Dussehra release date, five movies namely Rajkumar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Shahid Kapoor’s Deva, Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, Surya’s Kangua and Alia Bhatt’s Jigra are going to be released.

The great contest from Diwali to Christmas

The series of clashes between films is going to continue in the last months of the year as well. Ajay Devgan’s film Singham Again was postponed by its makers to avoid clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2. But now Pushpa 2 has been postponed. However, now Singham will compete with Kartik Aryan’s superhit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on Diwali. Ajay Devgan’s another film Raid 2 is scheduled for release in November next month. Abhishek Bachchan’s film directed by Sujit Sarkar will be released opposite it. On the other hand, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 has been postponed from 15 August and has been postponed to December. However, here it will compete with Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava. If we talk about Christmas, then earlier Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par and Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to Jungle were going to clash on this date. But now due to the postponement of Welcome 3, Varun Dhawan will be seen challenging Aamir with his/her film Baby John. Before this, the next film of the popular Hollywood franchise Lion King, Mufasa: The Lion King will also be released on the weekend.

When asked about the clash of films in the second half of the year, producer and film business analyst Girish Johar says, ‘The performance of films was not good in the beginning of the year. Due to this, many producers postponed the release dates of their films. But now all producers are looking for a good release date for their films. This is the reason why many films are clashing on festive release dates in the next half.’ At the same time, well-known film trade analyst Komal Nahta says, ‘Clash on 15 August, Diwali, Christmas is not a big deal. This has happened before as well. But so many films will not release. Some will go ahead. At present, everyone feels that the other’s film will go ahead.’
