New Delhi. The tenure of the current coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, is till the T20 World Cup 2024. The BCCI has issued applications for the new coach. However, nothing has been clarified by the BCCI yet as to who will be the next head coach. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah says that the board wants to make the coach of Team India a person who has deep knowledge about Indian cricket. According to a report, it is being told that Gautam Gambhir can become the next coach of the Indian team.

According to a report by India Today, Gautam Gambhir can now be made the head coach of Team India in place of Rahul Dravid. Gambhir coached the Kolkata Knight Riders and helped them win the IPL 2024 title. In such a situation, it would not be wrong for the BCCI to show confidence in Gambhir. However, Gambhir has no experience of coaching the national team. he/she has been playing the role of coaching in the IPL for a few years.

Gautam Gambhir played an important role in helping India win two World Cups. he/she scored a half-century in the T20 World Cup 2007. he/she played a match-winning innings of 97 runs in the final of the ODI World Cup 2011. his/her contribution in the final match is remembered even today. he/she has scored more than 10,000 runs for India in all three formats. Gambhir has also scored 20 centuries in international cricket.
