There are some special reasons behind this, about which you must have some information. If you also want to know about the country of Pakistan, then know why Independence Day is celebrated here on 14th August.

This is the first important reason

The reason behind why Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day on 14 August is attributed to British Viceroy Lord Mountbatten. It is said that Mountbatten had decided 15 August 1947 as the date for the independence of both the countries, but he/she himself went to Karachi on 14 August 1947 to hand over the declaration of Pakistan’s independence to Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

According to a different theory, August is considered the religious month of Ramzan in the Muslim community. The midnight of 14th and 15th August coincides with the 27th day of Ramzan. Therefore, Independence Day started being celebrated on 14th August instead of 15th.

The time difference was also the reason

One of the reasons behind Pakistan celebrating its Independence Day on a different day is the time difference between the two countries. Pakistan’s standard time is 30 minutes behind India’s standard time. While India became an independent country at 00:00, it was 11:30 in Pakistan at that time. Therefore, Pakistan celebrates Independence Day a day earlier.
