In fact, if we look at the previous decade, I think we have seen almost every kind of capacity or economic activity becoming weapons. This can be financial flow, energy supply or technology, this is the truth of the world. ‘

US stopped financial assistance to Tibet

On the other hand, the US government has stopped the financial help of the Tibetan government which is going on in exile. This has increased their difficulties. Members of the Tibetan Sarkar-Nidhan Parliament are facing difficulties in making their budget. They do not understand how to meet the targets of expenditure set by the US government. A budget of Rs 367.5 crore is proposed for 2025-26. But it will be cut as the US has stopped the financial assistance given to the Tibetan government-disdain.

Trump government wants to shut down USAID

The US, Tibetan used to give 40 per cent to 50 per cent of the government-government budget. About half the amount from the US used to come through USAID. The Trump government wants to shut down the USAID. CTA chairman Penpa Tsering said that all departments will be cut to meet the decrease in funding. This means that the Tibetan government-government will have to cut its expenses.
