The former Congress president said, ‘I held a meeting with the Speaker. I told him/her that the derogatory comments made against me should be removed. The Speaker said that he/she will look into it… Our aim is that the House should function and there should be discussion in the House. No matter what they say about me, we want the debate to take place on December 13.

Earlier, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi raised the issue of deteriorating situation in Manipur in the Lok Sabha. he/she asked when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur and when Home Minister Amit Shah will inform the House about the steps being taken to deal with the situation. Gogoi also accused BJP of hiding the failures of the government by raising the issue of George Soros.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, replying, said the government is taking necessary steps on the situation in Manipur. he/she alleged nexus between Congress and external forces, due to which the country is suffering losses. he/she also alleged links between Congress and George Soros. Goyal asked, ‘Why does George Soros have such a close relationship with their leader?’

There was a clash between the BJP and the opposition in the Rajya Sabha over the no-confidence motion against Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, due to which the House proceedings were adjourned for the whole day. Opposition alliance ‘India’ on Tuesday submitted a no-confidence motion against the Chairman to the Secretary General of Rajya Sabha.

Congress is demanding discussion on the Adani case and has also protested in the Parliament complex. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that if the opposition has presented a no-confidence motion against the Rajya Sabha Chairman, then it raises questions on his/her impartiality.

he/she said, ‘The Vice President is not an elected or nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. he/she, being the Vice-President, is the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha as he/she is elected by the MPs of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. If the opposition is forced to bring an impeachment motion against him/her on the grounds of bias and prejudice, it raises big questions about the selection of impartial presiding officers for our legislatures.

On Tuesday too, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day following the uproar. The winter session of Parliament began on November 25 and will continue till December 20. Since the first day, proceedings have been disrupted due to uproar in both the houses.
