No if no but, BJP plus clear cut in Maharashtra! Maha Vikas Aghadi’s vehicle stuck in exit polls

New Delhi: The voting process in the assembly elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand has been completed. By 6 pm, voters in both the states cast their votes in favor of the representatives of their choice. Those who did not like any candidate would have pressed NOTA. Voting was held for a total of 81 seats in Jharkhand in two phases, while voting for a total of 288 seats in Maharashtra was held in a single phase. By the time voting was over, TV channels were gearing up to announce the results of the exit polls. According to the estimates of exit polls for Maharashtra, a BJP coalition government seems to be formed there. Most exit polls are predicting a clear majority for the BJP-led grand alliance in the 288-seat assembly.

BJP Plus has lead in all surveys

This time, surveys have been conducted by Chanakya Strategies, Matrice, People’s Pulse, P-Mark and Poll Diary. All of them have found in their survey that Mahayuti has an edge over the Congress-led alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The big thing is that none of these survey institutes has shown the victory of MVA nor has expressed the fear of a hung assembly. All have given a clear majority to the grand alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde) and NCP (Ajit Pawar).

Will exit polls stand the test this time?

However, this time the exit polls of Lok Sabha elections and Haryana Assembly elections completely failed. Be it Lok Sabha elections or Haryana Assembly elections, on both the occasions the exit polls’ predictions were completely opposite to the actual results. In the Lok Sabha elections itself, when the actual results did not match the exit polls, the survey institutes were beaten to shame. Then, after the same failure was repeated in the Haryana Assembly, serious questions were raised on the entire process of the survey and the results derived on its basis. It remains to be seen whether this time the survey institutes will be able to stand the test of Maharashtra election results? The answer will be known on November 23 when the Election Commission will declare the actual results.
