No good for the enemies! Approval for first women battalion in CISF, recruitment will start soon

New Delhi: Approval has been received to form the first women’s battalion in CISF to protect the country’s airports, Delhi Metro, VIP and other premises. For this, the Union Home Ministry gave green signal. Now soon CISF will start the recruitment process to create the first all-women battalion. In this, most of the women will be trained through commando training. So that he/she can provide his/her prompt services anywhere as per the need including airports, Delhi Metro and VIP security. This battalion will also be very special considering the responsibility given to CISF to provide security to the Parliament of the country.

Home Ministry approved

CISF DIG Deepak Verma said that work on this has started with the approval of the Home Ministry. At present there are about one lakh 90 thousand personnel in CISF. About seven percent of these are women. At present there is not even a single women battalion in CISF with 12 battalions. This will be the first battalion, which will have only women. The proposal to create a women battalion in the force was initiated on the occasion of the 53rd CISF Day as per the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Which has now been given its official approval by the Ministry.

There will be 1025 women in the all women battalion.

CISF officials said that there will be 1025 women in the all-women battalion. Most of them will be trained through commando training. So that during any kind of emergency, these commandos of the women battalion can take charge. Officials said that it is not the case that at present there are no women in CISF. There are still women in the force and there are also women commandos. But neither do they have any specific battalion nor can a new women’s battalion be raised from them. For this, a new recruitment process will be started and a new women battalion will be raised. It is expected that by next year CISF will give its first women battalion to the country.

In the Agniveer case, CISF has already said that it will give 10 percent reservation in recruitment to Agniveer. Keeping this in view, there will be a quota of women fire warriors in this battalion also. However, the first group of Agniveers will start arriving from the end of 2025. In such a situation, the fire warriors may not get benefit in this first new women battalion of CISF, but they will definitely get benefit in the coming time.
