The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Delhi earlier announced that the National Exit Test (NExT) (which will replace NEET PG) will be conducted next year for the current MBBS batch. However, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, NMC has decided to postpone the exam until further notice. Along with this, the mock test has also been cancelled.

It is being considered to conduct the examination in March.
Medical school admission and counseling in PGMER have been discussed in the past. During the discussion it was put forward that if the admission is to be done as per next regulation or on the basis of NEET-PG, then the exam will be conducted in the month of March. Whereas, NEET PG counseling process will start in May and the new academic year (2024-2025) will start in July.
First counseling will start from May 10
The draft rules from the NMC state that the first round of counseling for central quota will begin on May 10, while state counseling will begin on May 20, 2024. The second round of central counseling will begin on June 1, while the second round of state quota counseling will begin on June 2.
Measurement or third round will start from June 20
The mop up or third round for central counseling will begin on June 20 while for state counseling it will begin on June 30. Let us tell you that earlier NMC was considering to conduct the next exam. But due to opposition from students and medical association, the exam was postponed.
