NIA takes big action against gangster Goldy Brar, raids nine locations in Punjab against criminals

New Delhi : A day after filing a chargesheet against Goldy Brar, who has been included in the list of terrorists from a foreign gangster, in the murder case of Karni Sena Chief, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided nine locations of Goldy Brar and several of his/her associates in Punjab. The raids were conducted in Mohali, Patiala, Hoshiarpur and Fatehgarh Sahib districts. This action has been taken in connection with the case of a victim from Chandigarh. In which extortion was demanded from the victim in January this year. Then, when the extortion was not paid, bullets were fired outside his/her house.

On March 18, NIA took over the investigation
In this case, the Punjab Police registered a case on January 20 this year and started the investigation. After this, seeing the seriousness of the case, the NIA took over the investigation on March 18. The action taken by the NIA on Thursday is part of the continuous action being taken against individual terrorists involved in criminal-terrorist activities in India. During this, the team found many digital gadgets and other items. Which have been seized.

Conspiracy hatched by extorting money from businessmen
The NIA said that investigation so far has revealed that Goldy Brar, along with Goldy of Rajpura (Punjab), had hatched a criminal conspiracy to extort money from businessmen of Punjab, Chandigarh and adjoining areas. All of them were also providing arms and ammunition to the members of the terrorist gangs formed by Brar. Apart from this, he/she was also involved in smuggling, selling of narcotics and channeling the money received from these sales.

The gang used to recruit vulnerable youths
According to the NIA investigation, Goldy Brar and his/her associates, who are hiding abroad, are continuously recruiting vulnerable youths in their gangs and using them for extortion. In this, they identify targets and demand extortion from them. If the extortion is not paid, firing is done in front of the houses of the victim businessmen and other rich people. Gangster Brar is involving the youth in the sale and purchase of narcotics, smuggling of weapons, etc.

NIA has also appealed to the people to inform NIA if they receive any threatening call from terrorist Goldy Brar and his/her associates. Their identity will be kept secret. If any person receives a call from a terrorist, gangster or their associates demanding ransom or threatening in any other way, then he/she can inform NIA on landline number 0172-2682901 or mobile number 7743002947 (for Telegram/Whatsapp). Brar is suspected to be hiding in Canada.
