NIA conducted rapid raids in many states of the country, read what was found in the search

New Delhi: National investigation agency NIA on Wednesday raided 17 locations in four states of the country in a case related to arms smuggling. This raid was conducted at 12 locations in Bihar, one in Haryana, three in Nagaland and one in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA said the case pertains to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and other banned weapons being smuggled from Nagaland and other north-eastern states.

Bihar was being used as a transit route for onward smuggling to other states. Bihar was also being used as a destination for smuggled banned weapons. The investigation so far in the case has revealed that the accused were engaged in arms smuggling activities for the last several years.

Officials said that searches were conducted at the premises of 15 accused and suspects in this case. These included 11 suspects whose premises were searched. he/she has been arrested earlier in this case registered this year. Chargesheet has also been filed against four of these. The NIA raid on Wednesday led to the recovery of one .315 rifle, 11 rounds, 3 empty cartridges, digital devices, including mobile phones, memory cards, pen drives etc.

Also raw materials and other equipment have been recovered. Which are suspected to have been used to make weapons. The teams also seized a car and cash totaling Rs 13,94,840. Investigation is going on in the matter.
