New Zealand out of the race for WTC Final after defeat by England, who is in the race?

New Delhi. England defeated the New Zealand team which defeated the Indian team in the Test series at home. The host had to face defeat in the second consecutive match of the 3-match series. England gave a big shock to the New Zealand team, which lost by 8 wickets in the first test match, by defeating them by a huge margin of 323 runs in the second match. With this defeat, the New Zealand team’s hopes of reaching the World Test Championship final have completely ended.

No one had expected the way England defeated the New Zealand team by entering their home. In the Wellington Test, England batted first and after scoring 280 runs in the first innings, bowled out New Zealand for just 125 runs and took a huge lead of 155 runs. After this, in the second innings, on the basis of Joe Root’s century, the innings was declared after scoring 427 runs for 6 wickets. New Zealand had a mountain-like target of 583 runs, against which the entire team was reduced to just 259 runs.

To remain in the race for the World Test Championship final, New Zealand had to win both the last Test matches against England. The defeat in this match has closed the doors for him/her to go ahead.
