New Zealand appointed the veteran who has played 7 World Cups as bowling coach


New Delhi. The New Zealand cricket team will tour India in October. A 3-match Test series will be played between the two teams. Before this series, the New Zealand team has appointed former all-rounder Jacob Oram as its bowling coach. The series to be played between India and New Zealand is part of the World Test Championship. 46-year-old Oram, who has played three ODIs and four T20 World Cups for New Zealand, will take charge on October 7.

The New Zealand team will play the first Test match of the series against India in Bengaluru from 16 to 20 October. After which Tests will be played in Pune (24 to 28 October) and Mumbai (1 to 5 November). Jacob Oram was the bowling coach of New Zealand during the recent T20 World Cup held in America and West Indies. he/she played the same role for the New Zealand women’s team during the World Cup held on home soil in 2022.

“Oram, who has played 229 international matches, will officially join the New Zealand support staff after assisting the team as bowling coach during the Test tour of Bangladesh last year, the home T20 International series against Australia in February as well as the recent ICC T20 World Cup,” New Zealand Cricket said in a statement.

Who is Jacob Oram?
Jacob Oram started his/her coaching career with the New Zealand A team in 2014. After this, he/she became the bowling coach of the New Zealand women’s cricket team in 2018. Last summer, he/she was made the head coach of Central Hinds. he/she coached the team in the final of the Super Smash. Oram has coached many teams in T20 leagues. he/she has extensive experience as an assistant coach in the Abu Dhabi T10 and MI Cape Town SA20 League.
