New OTT Release: From Kajol-Kriti’s ‘Do Patti’ to ‘Zvigato’ and ‘Furiosa’, 8 films and series

After celebrating Dussehra, now there are preparations for Diwali everywhere. A new week has started from Monday and with this new films and web series have also started knocking on OTT. This week, between October 21 and October 27, many interesting shows and films are coming in the world of OTT. While the most awaited film has been Kajol and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Do Patti’, after about one and a half years, Kapil Sharma’s film ‘Zvigato’ is also going to hit the screens. Along with this, ‘Furiosa’ offering ‘Mad Max Saga’ is also going to be streamed. So, let’s take a look at the 8 new films and series being released on OTT in this new week of October-

Do Patti (25 October)

The trailer of ‘Do Patti’ starring two powerful actresses like Kajol and Kriti Sanon made a lot of headlines recently. Kriti Sanon is in a double role in this suspense thriller. This film has been directed by Shashank Chaturvedi. Whereas ‘Haseen Dilruba’ fame Kanika Dhillon has written its story. The story of ‘Do Patti’ is set in the hill town of Devipur. At its center is Vidya Jyoti (Kajol), a dashing police officer. Vidya is faced with a crime, which has two twin sisters (Kriti Sanon) at its two ends. One of these sisters, Soumya, is married to Dhruv (Shaheer Sheikh). But she is stuck somewhere in this relationship. While her mysterious twin sister, Shaili, seems to be scheming for her brother-in-law. One of the sisters is the culprit, but will Vidya be able to unravel the complexities of this dangerous game? ‘Do Patti’ will be released on OTT platform Netflix this week on 25th October.

Zweigato (October 25)

‘Zvigato’, directed by Nandita Das, was released last year in March 2023. This touching and social story of a food delivery boy received much praise at international film festivals. Kapil Sharma is in the lead role in this film, who is playing the character of Manas. Manas was once a manager in a factory. But he/she loses his/her job during the Corona epidemic. To feed his/her family, he/she starts food delivery business. his/her wife Pratima (Shahana Goswami) starts a job as a sweeper in a mall. The film is a story of the struggles of the working class in our society, which we often ignore. This film will be streamed on OTT on Prime Video from October 25.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (October 23)

The third big OTT release of this week is George Miller’s ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, which was long awaited. This film was released in theaters on May 23, 2024. It is an exciting prequel to the 2015 release ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. It shows us the story of the heroine Furiosa in the harsh life of the dystopian world. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa, who is banished from Green Place by the ruthless Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Furiosa fights her way across the wasteland against Dementor’s brutal biker horde. This film will be released on OTT platform JioCinema on October 23.

Bikeriders (21 October)

‘The Bikeriders’ is a crime drama based on Danny Lyon’s 1967 photography book. The film revolves around the ‘Vandals’, a Midwestern motorcycle club. It shows how the Vandals become part of a dangerous underworld, putting their lives in danger. The film shows us this tumultuous story through the eyes of Kathy (Jodie Comer). In the film, Austin Butler plays the role of Benny and Tom Hardy plays the role of Johnny, a mysterious club leader. This film will be streamed on OTT platform JioCinema on October 21.

Beauty in Black (24 October)

This series ‘Beauty in Blame’ by famous actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry is of 16-episodes. It tells the story of Kimmy (Taylor Polydore Williams), who is thrown out by her mother. Kimmy struggles to get her life back on track. She begins working as a stripper with her best friend Rain (Amber Rain Smith). But the story takes a dramatic turn when he/she meets Mallory (Crystal Stewart). Mallory is a big name in the cosmetic industry. As the story progresses, Kimmy finds herself entangled in a dangerous web of human trafficking. After this, there are such layers in the story, the truth of which shakes the heart and mind. This web series will be released on OTT platform Netflix on October 24.

Canary Black (October 24)

‘Canary Black’ is a high-octane spy thriller. It is the story of Avery Graves (Kate Beckinsale), a CIA operative. Her world begins to crumble when terrorists kidnap her husband. Blackmailed into betraying his/her country, Avery Graves is thrust into the world of international espionage. Caught in a web of deception and danger, Avery believes she can figure things out. But really? Because on one hand, Avery faces her husband’s life and on the other, a terrible disaster that can destroy the world. This film will stream on Prime Video from October 24.

Like a Dragon: Yakuza (October 24)

‘Like a Dragon: Yakuza’ is an American-Japanese crime web series. It is a live-action series based on SEGA’s favorite video game series. The story features Kazuma Kiryu. The series takes viewers into the sinister underworld of Kamurocho, the notorious fictional district of Tokyo. There are loyalties, betrayals, and a battle for rule at every turn. The story is set between 1995 and 2005, centering on the character Kiryu (Ryoma Takeuchi). Kiryu is an ex-Yakuza member, known for his/her sense of justice and humanity. This web series is releasing on Prime Video on 24th October.

Don’t Move (25 October)

‘Don’t Move’ is an American horror-thriller film. Kelsey Asbill and Finn Wittrock are in lead roles in the film. The story follows an unhappy woman named Iris who arrives in search of the peace of a remote forest. But a killer is looming as a threat. Iris is a paralyzing agent, whose body also slowly ceases to function. Iris has to deal with danger, but also with herself. This film is releasing on OTT platform Netflix on October 25.
