New Delhi: Dr. V. Narayanan will be the new Chief of ISRO. he/she will replace S. Somnath on January 14. This information was given in an official notification on Tuesday. Dr. Narayanan is currently the Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC). he/she is a distinguished scientist in ISRO. he/she has served in many important positions in the space organization for almost four decades. Rocket and spacecraft propulsion is his/her area of ​​expertise.

Dr. Narayanan is a big name in ISRO. he/she has served as the Project Director of the C25 Cryogenic Project of GSLV Mk III. Under his/her leadership the team successfully developed the C25 stage. It is an important part of GSLV Mk III. Under the leadership of Dr. Narayanan, LPSC has delivered 183 liquid propulsion systems and control power plants for various ISRO missions. he/she has also worked on the construction of the second and fourth stages of PSLV. The control power plant for PSLV C57 was also built under his/her direction. he/she has also contributed to the propulsion systems of the Aditya spacecraft and the GSLV Mk-III missions, Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3.

Dr. Narayanan has received many awards and honors. he/she has received a silver medal from IIT Kharagpur. Astronautical Society of India (ASI) has honored him/her with a gold medal. he/she has also received the National Design Award from NDRF. Dr. Narayanan has deep knowledge of rocket and spacecraft propulsion. he/she has led many important projects in his/her career. his/her experience and leadership abilities will help ISRO move forward. his/her contribution to the field of Indian space research is incomparable.
