Netanyahu after the release of 3 women under Gaza ceasefire agreement


Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his/her commitment to securing the release of all hostages after Hamas handed over three Israeli women under the first phase of the historic Gaza ceasefire deal.

The three women have been held captive for 471 days since October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants attacked southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping more than 200 others. Had taken. More than 46,000 Palestinians have also been killed in Israeli retaliatory attacks against Hamas in Gaza. Earlier, more than 100 hostages were freed during a week-long ceasefire in November 2023.

The ceasefire agreement was announced last week.

In a post on Twitter the Israeli prime minister wrote, “The Israeli government embraces the three women who have returned. Their families have been informed by the concerned authorities that they are with our forces.

“The Israeli government is committed to returning all hostages and missing persons,” the post said.

After the release was announced, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said, “Today, as part of these ongoing efforts, we welcomed back three hostages, three young women, after 471 days in Hamas captivity. ..Today, we salute him/her and embrace him/her.” And their families reunited after such a long time.”

The names of the three female hostages released are Romy Gane, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher.

Addressing a briefing he/she said, “Emily, Doron and Romy are now in safe hands. A few minutes ago, Emily, Doron and Romy were reunited with the IDF and ISA forces – they are with us now and are on their way home. They are headed to the IDF’s initial reception center, where they will receive initial medical care and be reunited with their families. From there, he/she will be shifted to the hospital.

“Emily Tehila Damri, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, celebrated her 28th birthday in captivity. Doron Steinbrecher, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, celebrated his/her 31st birthday in captivity. Kfar Vradim’s Romy Gonen was kidnapped from the ‘Nova’ concert and celebrated her 24th birthday in captivity,” he/she added.

he/she further said that Israel is eagerly awaiting the release of all hostages who are still held in Gaza

“With great excitement, our hearts go out to all the hostages held in inhumane conditions in Gaza and we eagerly await their return,” he/she said.

“The first phase of the agreement is expected to last for approximately 42 days. Today, the first three hostages returned. From now on, three to four additional hostages will be released each week.

Earlier on Sunday, Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement, which came into force at 11:15 am local time. This marks the beginning of a framework that aims to secure the release of more hostages and provide much-needed assistance to Gaza.
