Neha Joshi said- Acting is not just a job but worship for me, I never did any work for money

Neha Joshi, who has appeared in the serial ‘Atal’, is playing the role of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s mother Krishna Devi. The actress talked to presswire18 Times about everything from acting to her family. She said – I don’t do puja every day but I do my work honestly every day.

It would be a matter of good fortune for anyone to get the darshan of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on the holy festival of Ram Navami. Recently, actors Neha Joshi and Ashutosh Kulkarni, who are playing the role of Krishna Devi and Krishna Bihari Vajpayee, parents of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the serial Atal, got such an opportunity. We had a special conversation with both of them after visiting the holy land of Ayodhya:

‘It is a matter of great happiness for every Indian that such a grand Ram temple has been built in our country. It has been inaugurated recently. A lot of people want to come here. In such a situation, we got to see Ramlala so soon, this is definitely a big thing.’ This is said by Neha Joshi, who is playing the role of Krishna Devi, mother of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the serial Atal. Neha had gone to Ayodhya to see Shri Ram with her co-star Ashutosh Kulkarni before Ram Navami.

‘Acting is my God’

Neha further says, ‘The bigger thing is that I have come here through my work and for me my work is not just a job. I love my work very much. For me, my work is God and my worship. I do not worship every day but I do my work honestly every day, so at night I feel that my worship today is done. Therefore, through that work I have come to see God, so that is an even bigger thing for me.’ Neha tells that she has never done any work for money. According to Neha, ‘I am proud to say that I have never worked just for money. I believe that it is a matter of values. In our show Atal also, we are telling that the foundation of a person who reaches such heights is laid in his/her childhood. he/she gets those values from his/her home. Atal ji’s father Krishna Bihari was a teacher and his/her mother was an educated woman in that era, from there he/she got those values which made him/her one of the most loved Prime Ministers of India. Similarly, I myself am from a very progressive family. I grew up in a joint family. My grandparents, my four uncles, aunts, their children, all of us lived in the same house. My father’s aunt was a nurse. She had done a nursing course. This is about a hundred years old. My aunt’s husband had passed away. At that time in Maharashtra, when the husband dies, the woman’s hair is removed. My aunt’s hair was not cut. My grandmother also did a nursing course and ran her maternity home. My mother and father have been doing theater in Nashik for the last fifty years. My brother has also done theater, so in my house, both education and art are very important. Therefore, I give a lot of importance to my work.

‘I have not only played a mother but also a prostitute on screen’

Neha, who has played the role of a mother in all three of her Hindi serials – ‘Mahanayak: BR Ambedkar’, ‘Doosri Maa’ and now ‘Atal’ – is so comfortable with modern, bold or bindaas roles. When asked this, she says, ‘I have also played the role of a prostitute in a Marathi film. I have not set any limits for myself that I will do this kind of role and I will not do that. Yes, if it is a bold role, then I will definitely see who the maker is? What work has he/she done before? If the maker has good intentions, then there is honesty and decency in his/her nude scenes as well. We have seen love scenes in Omkara as well. We have seen a mother-son scene in Haider which has been done very responsibly, so I will see what is the purpose of this intimacy? What is the purpose of this bold character or action? If it is okay for me, then I will do it, because I am an actor, I am not a teacher. If I am playing the role of a sex worker, then it is my moral responsibility to play it with complete honesty.’

It is a matter of luck to come to Ayodhya during Navratri

Here, actor Ashutosh Kulkarni, who plays the role of Krishna Bihari Vajpayee in the show, also looked very happy after visiting Shri Ram in Ayodhya. he/she said that we have got the opportunity to come here and visit during Navratri, so I feel very fortunate.
