Nefarious action of Dragon, new military base being built near Pangong Lake, understand the meaning of this new move of China

New Delhi: It is said that if your neighbors are with you, think about your well being and support you in your sorrows and joys, then you are lucky. If the opposite happens, then the same neighbor will become infected. India has got two neighbors who are becoming its enemies. Today the talk will not be about Pakistan but about China. China is building its new base on the northern bank of Pangong Lake near the Indian border. Senior Indian military sources have analyzed the Chinese base with the help of satellite images. They say that this site is different from any other site which is located on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control. This site is located in the Chinese controlled area, 36 kilometers east of the Line of Actual Control i.e. LAC. This is about 15 km east of the new bridge built on Pangong Lake in Ladakh and is a new move by Beijing to increase pressure in areas near the Line of Actual Control. There was no such activity here before or no one had occupied it.

China is planning big

Military sources say the site has more than 70 permanent structures and is spread out widely. This has been done to reduce the possible impact of missile attacks. Military sources further said that the site appears to have two primary functions – to accommodate troops and porters involved in China’s construction activity in the area and for possible transfer to locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with India. Storing logistics. Military experts say each structure can accommodate 6-8 soldiers or up to 10 tons of logistics. This may include ammunition including artillery shells.

Geospatial Imagery Expert Damen Simon says that construction work has taken place in this village, which is also proved by heavy machinery including cranes and adequate supply depots. The township is witnessing the development of multi-storey buildings with village administrative offices and emerging town centres. Power lines are being pulled from the southern highway as electrification efforts move forward. Furthermore, to ensure water supply, a possible pumping station is being constructed in the north, drawing fresh water from the adjacent river bed.

Clear by 2022, construction started early this year
Lieutenant General DS Hooda (retd) informed that in April 2022, the site was cleared, however, construction started in March 2024. DS Hooda had led India’s surgical strike in Pakistani territory. he/she says the site under construction has dual uses. ‘This enables China to say that they are only improving facilities for the civilian population, but this is clearly dual-use infrastructure that will be used by the military during a war.

‘It’s a long game’
The construction of this site also changes the ground facts. ‘There was an agreement in 2005 between India and China on political parameters and guiding principles for the settlement of the border dispute. Article VII thereof states that ‘In reaching border settlements, both Parties shall safeguard the legitimate interests of the population inhabiting the border areas.’ However, by building these villages in areas claimed by India where there was no inhabited population, China is attempting to strengthen its claims and weaken our bargaining position, says Lt Gen Hooda. It’s a long game.

The report also identified fortified sites north of the bridge, including a potential air defense site that could be home to a surface-to-air missile battery. This site will protect this new Chinese base from air attacks.

Lieutenant General Satish Dua (retd) pointed out that the size and scale of the material and infrastructure is so close to the Line of Actual Control and is linked with the bridge across Pangong Tso, which connects the North and South banks. he/she further said that the bridge allows lateral switching of forces and this dual-use village can be used as a logistics hub. We have to keep a close eye on their activities in this area, which can give us advance warning about any malicious activity. Recently, similar construction activity has been seen near the eastern sector of Spangur Lake, where another large settlement is under construction about 18 kilometers away from Rezang La, where the Indian Army outflanked the Chinese Army during the 2020 border standoff. Was.

the difference is clear

India ready to answer
These pictures were sent by NDTV to the Ministry of External Affairs last week. The ministry has chosen to respond specifically to new Chinese construction activity. However, India has dramatically increased infrastructure development along the China border. This includes construction of roads, tunnels and other military facilities to ensure that Indian forces are well prepared and can rapidly respond to any challenges posed by Chinese actions along the Line of Actual Control.
