NEET UG 2025 News: NEET exam twice a year! What has come the decision of the High Court

Students preparing for medical, their parents and clean Updates have come for coaching institutes and teachers preparing for. Entrance exam NEET (UG) is organized for admission in all medical UG courses including MBBS, BDS, Ayush. But this has been happening only once a year. While BE, B.Tech Entrance Examination NTA JEE Main is twice a year. For some time, there has been a demand for NEET to be done twice a year. A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court in this regard, on which the court has put its point.

What did Delhi HC say on NEET?

A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court, demanding the NEET exam to be conducted twice a year. The petition appeared before the bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela.

On this, the judges said that ‘Neet exam will be conducted 2 times a year or not? This is an administrative matter. Only the concerned authority can consider this demand. This is a policy decision that can be taken by the government.

Saying this, the court refused to intervene in the case and dismissed the petition. However, the court has given a discount to the petitioner that he/she can go to the concerned authority with his/her demand.

NEET 2 Times in A Year: Who filed a petition

A petition seeking to conduct the NEET exam twice a year has been filed by the teacher of a NEET Coaching Center. he/she says that JEE Mains exam is conducted in many shifts, more than one opportunity is given in a year, so that children’s mental stress can be reduced and motivated them to improve their marks. But the medical entrance exam NEET UG gives only one chance a year. These children should also get more than one opportunity.

Can NEET be 2 times a year?

Last year, a high level committee was formed in NEET 2024 after allegations and ruckus like paper leaks, grace marks, rigging. This committee had to review the NEET exam and make recommendations regarding the change. It was expected that NEET 2025 could also be in online mode this year. But this did not happen. Some changes were made at the bus administrative level.

A few days ago, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said that suddenly no such change would be made, which will give the students a big shock. However, no response has been given by the government so far for getting NEET twice. But it may be that the government will consider this proposal later. But at the moment nothing can be said about this. Nothing is going to apply in NEET UG 2025.
