NEET PG 2024: What is the reason for postponement of NEET PG? NBE issued a warning to candidates a day before

NEET PG 2024: On Saturday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduate (NEET PG) and said that a new date for the exam will be announced at the earliest. The ministry said that the decision has been taken in view of the recent allegations on the integrity of competitive examinations in the country. The ministry said that a thorough evaluation of the processes of NEET-PG will be done.

On June 21, a day before NEET PG was postponed, the National Board of Medical Examination (NBEMS) said that a regular survey conducted by its officials had revealed that some fraudsters were trying to deceive NEET PG aspirants on social media.

According to the board, those fraudsters said that they can provide questions for NEET PG exam obtained through the authority in return for which they would get a huge amount of money.

In its warning notice, the board said, ‘NBEMS has lodged a police complaint against such fraudsters and their accomplices for attempting to fool NEET-PG aspirants in the name of providing NEET-PG 2024 questions.’

It warned candidates not to fall prey to misleading claims and said any direct or indirect involvement in such activities will be ‘dealt with appropriately’.

Neither the NBE nor the Health Ministry cited paper leak as the reason for the postponement of the exam. The ministry said that the decision was taken in view of recent allegations regarding the integrity of the conduct of ‘some competitive examinations’.

These competitive exams include UGC NET, the national level eligibility test for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professorship and PhD admissions was cancelled due to paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the case.
