NEET: Now there will be no hearing in any High Court, Supreme Court has put a stay on NEET hearing, latest update

Stay on hearing of NEET in High Court: The Supreme Court has stayed the hearing of the cases pending in different High Courts in the matter related to NEET UG 2024 paper leak and irregularities. In fact, NTA (National Testing Agency) has filed an application in the Supreme Court to hear the cases pending in different High Courts across the country. Well A plea has been made to transfer the petitions related to NEET to the Supreme Court. Along with this, a stay was demanded on the NEET hearings being held in different High Courts.

However, the Supreme Court stayed the hearing of NEET in the High Courts but reiterated that it will not stay the counselling. The court said in its oral observation that the admission process depends on the outcome of this petition.

NEET Hearing: SC first refused, then stayed it

A bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice SVN Bhati of the Supreme Court issued notice on the transfer petition filed in the case. Meanwhile, the lawyer appearing on behalf of NTA said that the hearing of the pending case in the High Court should also be stopped. During this, initially the Supreme Court had expressed reluctance to pass an order regarding the stay on the proceedings.

Actually, the High Court usually does not hear the transfer petition after the notice. However, NTA’s lawyer Vardhman Kaushik said that even after the Supreme Court’s notice, the High Court is dealing with the matter. Then the Supreme Court stayed the hearing related to this case going on in the High Court.

NEET Petition: Where all was the NEET hearing going on

Last week, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court to transfer the pending case in the Delhi High Court. The Supreme Court then issued a notice. The transfer petition was heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday. A plea was made on behalf of the NTA to transfer the pending cases in other High Courts to the Supreme Court.

During the hearing, the Supreme Court issued a notice on the petition and stayed the hearing of the High Court. The next date for hearing has been fixed as July 8. In the petition filed by NTA in the Supreme Court, it has been said that one case related to this is pending in the Rajasthan High Court, two cases in the Calcutta High Court and one petition in the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court.
