NEET Counselling 2024 Date: NEET counselling date revealed, SG gave update in Supreme Court hearing!

NEET Counselling 2024 Date: The NEET case was heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday and many updates have come out in this hearing that lasted for more than 5 hours. The final decision on the NEET paper leak case will be given on Monday by a bench of three judges including Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. Meanwhile, during the debate in the Supreme Court, the NEET counseling date was mentioned by the Solicitor General, the advocate of the Government of India in the court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that NEET counseling will start from July 24 as per the scheduled plan.

Supreme Court refuses to ban counselling:

NEET counseling is done by the Medical Counseling Committee for 15 percent seats. For NEET All India Counseling, students securing more than 50 percent percentile in the general category will be able to be a part of the counseling process. On the last day of hearing in the NEET paper leak case, the Supreme Court had refused to stay the counseling process.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court is hearing cases related to the NEET-UG 2024 medical entrance exam. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra will hear over 40 petitions. These include petitions filed by the NTA seeking transfer of cases pending in different High Courts to the Supreme Court to avoid hearing of the same case at different places.

Earlier, the apex court had adjourned the hearing on the petitions related to NEET-UG 2024 till July 18 as responses from some parties on behalf of the Center and NTA were awaited. The bench had earlier received a report from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the progress made in the investigation into alleged irregularities in the conduct of the examination.
