NEET 2024: Numbers in scorecard are different, OMR is different.. Will Supreme Court cancel NEET?

NEET Latest News in Hindi: Well Amid questions being raised on NEET Result regarding paper leak after UG 2024 exam and its result, another petition has been filed in the Supreme Court. It has been said that all OMR sheets should be re-evaluated and ranking should be decided again accordingly. Also, the entire matter should be investigated under the supervision of the court.

A writ has been filed in the Supreme Court under Article 32 on behalf of 8 candidates who appeared in the NEET exam. The NEET exam was held on May 5 and 24 lakh students had filled the forms for it. The petition filed in the Supreme Court states that the NTA (National Testing Agency) has taken arbitrary and illegal action in this matter. The petition states that the numbers in the scorecards and OMR sheets of the students are different. These discrepancies have not occurred due to grace numbers because students like the petitioner were not in the said center where the children got grace marks.

NEET 2024 Cancel: Demand to cancel NEET result

In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, it has been said that the cutoff number and the average result have been unprecedented this time. 67 students have scored 720 out of 720 marks. Whereas usually only 3-4 students used to top. Among these toppers, six are from just one centre in Haryana. Some students have scored 718 and 719 marks and statically this is under question.

Also, due to lack of time, the criteria for students who got grace marks was not disclosed. Also, there was no logic behind the grace marks given. The provision of grace marks and compensation given due to lack of time has not been disclosed in the information bulletin.

NTA has set new rules after the exam and all this raises questions on the authenticity of the result. The petitioner has pleaded that the NEET result be declared illegal and cancelled.

The Supreme Court has issued notice on all the petitions related to this. The Supreme Court has issued notice on various petitions filed in the case of NEET paper leak and irregularities. The Supreme Court had also issued notice on Friday on the petition seeking CBI investigation. The Supreme Court has fixed July 8 as the date for hearing on all the petitions.

NBT Lens: The scope of hearing is wide

When the matter first reached the Supreme Court, a stay on the result was sought alleging paper leak. But then on May 17, a bench headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud refused to stay the result but issued a notice in the matter. But later many other petitions were also filed regarding the paper leak of NEET UG 2024 and after the results were released, doubts were raised about six toppers from the same center and a total of 67 toppers.

There was a demand for a CBI inquiry into the matter. Along with this, questions were also raised on the grace number. Along with this, a plea has also been made for re-evaluation. In such a situation, the scope of hearing in this case has become quite wide. Although there is no ban on counseling, but during the hearing on July 8, all aspects will be heard in front of the Chief Justice.
