NCR Pollution School Closed: Another order to close the school due to pollution, Deputy Commissioner gave instructions here

The havoc of pollution is at its peak in Delhi and surrounding NCR region. There are reports of closure of schools one after the other amid ‘more than severe’ level of air pollution. Schools in Delhi and NCR cities – like Noida, Faridabad – are running online classes. The Supreme Court on Monday directed Delhi and its adjoining states – Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab – to immediately implement the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Meanwhile, in view of the increasing pollution, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has also ordered the closure of all schools up to class 12th. Meanwhile, physical classes have been stopped. Also, schools are going to remain closed till 23rd November or till further instructions.

The Supreme Court guidelines include closure of schools, work from home for employees and stoppage of industrial operations. These instructions will remain in force till further notice. Even if the Air Quality Index (AQI) falls below the dangerous level of 401.

Earlier instructions were given to keep schools up to class 5th closed and later in a new notice it was announced to close schools up to class 12th.

DC Gurugram’s Twitter post reads, ‘As per the instructions of the Director of Secondary Education, Haryana, and after assessing the Air Quality Index (AQI) situation, all physical classes up to class 12 in the district Gurugram will be postponed from 19th November 2024 to 23rd November. Will remain suspended till 2024 (or until further orders). AQI has reached severe category in some areas. During this period, there will be online classes in all government and private schools.

Supreme Court issues guidelines regarding physical classes and adherence to GRAP measures. All NCR states should consider suspending physical activities till class 12th.
