NBT Breaking: Local military commanders of India and China will meet today in Depsang and Demchok on LAC.

New Delhi : Local military commanders of India and China will meet today in Depsang and Demchok on LAC in Eastern Ladakh. Patrolling will start at both the places from tomorrow and this will be discussed in the meeting today. According to sources, disengagement and verification was completed in Depsang yesterday but due to bad weather, verification through aerial verification or UAV could not be done in Demchok. Aerial verification will be done today at Demchok.

According to sources, as per the agreement between India and China, disengagement and verification in Depsang and Demchok was to be completed by October 29. It’s almost done. According to sources, tents and temporary structures were removed from both the places by Tuesday evening. Where vehicles and soldiers had to be moved back, that was also completed. Disengagement and verification were going on simultaneously. Aerial verification was also completed through UAV in Depsang on Tuesday. Today it will happen in Demchok also.

According to sources, there is full hope that patrolling will start from Thursday i.e. 31st October. According to sources, there will be no joint patrolling, that is, soldiers of both the countries will not patrol together. With a short time gap, soldiers of both the countries can go on patrol on the same day. There will be talks regarding this when the local military commanders of Indian and Chinese armies meet today. Indian soldiers have to go on patrol at five places in Depsang and two places in Demchok.

According to sources, when the patrolling party goes, it will also see whether the temporary structures which were to be removed have been removed or not. So in a way patrolling will be the final verification of disengagement. Soldiers of both the countries will be able to patrol at all the places where they were patrolling before April 2020. With this, the situation before April 2020 will be restored in Depsang and Demchok.
