Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s heart melted for Wayanad victims, donated lakhs of rupees, getting applause

South Industry’s famous couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have expressed their solidarity with the victims and families affected by the Wayanad landslide in Kerala. Both of them sent a joint letter to the Chief Minister’s Office of Kerala and offered financial assistance to the victims. Nayanthara and Vignesh also shared their joint statement on their Instagram handle. This initiative of both of them is being praised a lot. The letter reads, ‘In the wake of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, our condolences are with the affected families and communities. The devastation and loss experienced by the people is heartbreaking. In this time of great need, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to support each other. As a gesture of solidarity, we are contributing 20,00,000 (twenty lakh rupees) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide immediate necessary assistance to the affected families.’

It further read, “It is heartening to see the response of our government, volunteers, rescue teams and many organisations who are working tirelessly to provide the necessary help and support to those in need. Let us unite with strength and compassion to help rebuild and heal.” Sharing the letter, Vignesh captioned his/her post, “Can’t equate the loss in #Wayanad 🙁 Extending our support in these dark times @nayanthara.”

Nayanthara is from Kerala

Apart from Nayanthara and Vignesh, Tamil actors Surya and Vikram, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya also extended their support. The actors donated to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Nayanthara hails from Kerala and her parents currently live in Tiruvalla, Kerala. She was born as Diana Mariam Kurien. Nayanthara and Vignesh are parents to twins named Ulag and Uyir. Currently, Nayanthara is awaiting the release of her two Tamil films – ‘The Test’ and ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’. Vignesh is busy working on his/her directorial, ‘Love Insurance Company’.
