Nawazuddin didn’t have money for food so Anurag Kashyap gave him/her the job, now narrated the story

Anurag Kashyap meets Nawazuddin

Anurag Kashyap said, ‘There was a very good actor named Rajpal Yadav, who came to Mumbai but was leaving the city because he/she was depressed and had given up. An actor named Ashraf Ulhaq, who has passed away, was in Black Friday. he/she asked me can you talk to this man (Rajpal) and give him/her some hope. So, we met him/her at the railway station and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was carrying his/her suitcase! This is how I met Nawaz.

Anurag Kashyap gave the role to Rajpal

Anurag Kashyap told how he/she told Rajpal Yadav that he/she was casting for the film ‘Shool’ and there was a role for him/her. Rajpal finally said yes to a scene in which he/she was playing the role of a coolie.

When Rajpal got the role, Nawazuddin also asked for work.

Anurag further said, ‘Rajpal’s career started from there. Nawaz was also there, so he/she asked me, can I also get a role? I told him/her there were no more roles left, but maybe I could place you somewhere else.

Anurag cast Nawazuddin

Nawaz told Anurag, ‘I don’t have money to eat, I will do anything.’ Therefore, in ‘Shool’, Nawaz played the role of a waiter in a scene with Manoj and Raveena. And from there both started working together.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui dominates again

After ‘Shool’, Nawazuddin played a small role in Aamir Khan’s ‘Sarfarosh’ and worked with Anurag Kashyap for the first time in his/her directorial debut ‘Black Friday’. Later, he/she became famous by acting in both the parts of Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Kahaani’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.
