National award winning actress Rehana Sultan admitted in ICU, no money for treatment, these stars helped

Famous actress of yesteryears Rehana Sultan is going through financial crisis at this time. From Rohit Shetty to Javed Akhtar and Ramesh Taurani, everyone has come forward to help her. Rehana Sultan recently underwent cardiac valve replacement surgery. She was having trouble breathing. Rehana Sultan currently lives with her brother in Mumbai and is facing financial crisis. Due to this, her treatment was also getting delayed. Rehana Sultan was a famous actress of the 70s. In the era when heroines used to stay away from holding hands or even a kiss, Rehana played the role of a prostitute in a film. Regarding Rehana Sultan’s treatment, he/she said, ‘Rehana Sultan has been in touch with me for a long time and she is not well. She had a heart problem. There was some problem with her heart valve. About three days ago, she started feeling very ill. So, her brother Rishabh Sharma called me and told me that she is in a critical condition and they have to get the actress admitted to the hospital. he/she also told me that he/she was short of money, due to which her treatment was getting delayed.’

Ashok Pandit further said that due to the intervention of IFTDA, the hospital started the treatment of Rehana Sultan quickly. Dr. Namjoshi and Dr. Sharma started treating the actress without waiting for the payment. Meanwhile, I called Rohit Shetty, Ramesh Taurani, Javed Akhtar sahab, Rajen Sahni, Sunil Bohra and Vipul Shah, TV producer Rajan Shahi. They immediately transferred money to the hospital’s bank account for the treatment of Rehana Sultan. The money arrived and yesterday her valve replacement surgery was done. She is fine, but she is in the ICU and will be under the supervision of doctors for a few more days. Rohit Shetty was out of town, Ramesh ji was in the Golden Temple, Sunil Bohra was also in Rajasthan, but all of them helped immediately.

Rehana Sultan was born in 1950. She learned acting from FTII and then entered the film world in the 70s. Her career includes many films like ‘Dastak’, ‘Chetana’, ‘Haar Jeet’, ‘Maan Jaayein’, ‘Man Tera Tan Tera’. In an interview, Rehana Sultan had told that her career was ruined due to the role of a prostitute, because every filmmaker was giving her similar roles. Many makers would forcefully add such scenes of her in films, which spoiled her image. The result was that Rehana Sultan’s films started to flop.
